It’s Friday, which means just one thing and one thing only.
Read on to find out more about our Huckletree D2-based thrill seekers.
How did you come up with your Actafun, and what makes it different to other similar companies?
I created ActaFun when I was doing Marketing in the National College of Ireland. As a class, we were always looking for different activities to do but it was difficult to decide which activities, and even harder to find and book them.
So we spoke to both activity providers and potential customers. From our research we created a simple dashboard for activity providers to list and manage their activities, plus a slick front end and Apps for people to find multiple activities, filter them by categories and book their desired activities in 4 clicks, with no booking fees and best price guaranteed.
Which part of Huckletree Alpha are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to pitching to more and more investors. The more we pitch to investors the more confident and prepared we will be. We look forward to the weekly workshops and we love meeting new people in Huckletree.
Everybody we’ve talked to so far have been very easy going and open to help in anyway they can. Love it!
Do you feel that there are any specific challenges that you’ve faced and overcome?
We have faced general challenges while applying for grants in Ireland. Recently had a one-to-one meeting with one of Enterprise Ireland’s coaches, which we got great feedback from and picked up different ways to improve our future applications. We look forward to the next openings.
Our values at Huckletree are ‘Stay Curious and Be Renegade’, how do these apply to you?
We absolutely love the Huckletree values. You promote being adventurous and authentic, which is what ActaFun is all about. Stay Curious and Be Renegade are highly represented by the types of people working here. I love spending time in Huckletree as I feel like I’m part of something bigger than just a normal workspace, it almost feels like a new family.
Who is your dream dinner guest and why?
My dream dinner guest would be with Will Smith.
He’s all about integrity, he’s fun, outgoing and he would more likely have the whole room laughing before the end of the night. Despite his very outgoing attitude he is smart and also a very hard worker. I’ve watched his documentaries in which he describes how he became the lead character in the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and it is very inspirational!
